Today in Chem lecture, my Professor decided to uniquely introduce the topic of Thermodynamics by demonstrating what would happen if hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂) was added to luminol (C₈H₇N₃O₂). This reaction yielded 3-aminophthalic acid, nitrogen gas, water, and LIGHT! It was so awesome. Everyone silently stared in amazement as the luminescent blue liquid trickled down the tube into a beaker.
